Welcome to Lincoln Church of the Nazarene!

I guess it is fairly obvious that Lincoln, Illinois was named for our 16^th President.  But did you know that we were the first city to so honor Abraham Lincoln even before he was nationally known?  It’s a name we wear with pride!  But around here there is another name we claim, too.  Many years ago this name was used to mock and dismiss Jesus as nothing more than a poor, uneducated laborer from the city of Nazareth – Jesus was known as a Nazarene.  He carried the name of his hometown with Him without complaint as He served the poor, sick, and hopeless and offered them hope for a new start and a better life through Him.  So today, we gladly take the name Nazarene and continue His mission – to bring the hope of a new life to the people of Lincoln.  We want to inspire & equip people to love God so completely that they become the hands of the Lord to serve their families and communities the way Jesus would.
