† Lincoln First Church of the Nazarene exists to be a community where persons
are equipped to seek Jesus Christ with their whole lives and serve people in holy love.

V We Are a Christian People

    We believe that . . .

• God has always existed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;

• God created mankind in His own image to reflect His glory;

• God’s plan for mankind was frustrated when we chose to rebel against Him;

• God purposed from the beginning to send His Son to rescue His lost creation;

• He has revealed this plan of salvation through His holy word, the Bible;

• Jesus the Son came to earth to reveal the Father to us and die for our acts of rebellion (sins) against God;

• He rose from the dead to make eternal life possible for all who will genuinely turn from their sins and live by faith in Him, but that all who reject his reign in their lives will suffer eternal separation from God;

• He returned to the heavenly presence of God to send the Holy Spirit to empower His people, the Church, to do His work in the world;

• He will ultimately return to earth to resurrect the dead, judge everyone who has ever lived, and bring complete renewal to all God’s creation.

V We Are a Holiness People

We believe that God desires not only to forgive sins, but to cleanse us from the tendency to sin through the work of the Holy Spirit within our lives. Thus, when we offer ourselves completely to Him, we can be renewed in the image of God, empowered to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love our fellow person as we love ourselves, and freed to live holy and pleasing lives in service to God and mankind.

V We Are a Missional People

We believe that the task Jesus gave, to share this good news with all people, is still our duty today.  Locally, we equip each other for our part of this good work by worshipping together, praying together, and studying God’s word together. Globally, we support missionaries and their work by learning about them, praying for them, and collecting funds to support this world-wide mission several times each year.
